A busy summer of community fundraising

Whilst the weather may have been unreliable this summer, ELF fundraisers were the one thing that could be relied upon!

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to fundraise for ELF this summer. June, July and August saw a wave of concerts, cream teas, running events, fetes, challenges and collections all taking place across Devon, raising money to support our vital services for blood cancer patients and their families.

Here is just a taster of some of the fundraising ELF supporters took part in during the summer of 2023:

  • The Crediton ELF Fundraising Group: The group's calendar included a Summer Fete, an ELF Cream Tea for 100 people, a bingo night AND a Big Breakfast. Our thanks to the committee for their continued hard work!
  • Exeter City Community Trust 10k River Run: a group consisting of Yarty ward nurses, ELF staff members plus supporters ran in this June race, which was also supported by some of our brilliant volunteers handing out refreshments and medals
  • Ottertots Day Care Nursery in Ottery St Mary held a fundraising week, where the children took part in a different themed danceathon each day
  • Concerts were held by The Stan Hacking Band, The Minstrels Choir and River City Chorus, three amazing community groups
  • ELF volunteers were out in force, collecting donations at the Barnfield Crescent charity car park and at various supermarkets across the county
  • The Lions Clubs of both Exeter and Honiton and the Kenn Valley Young Farmers Club presented ELF with donations as their chosen Charity of the Year
  • Marge Addicott hosted a Skittles competition in Longdown Village Hall

A huge thank you to everyone who supported ELF this summer. Your donations make a real difference.

Summer 2024 will have a lot to live up to...
