Chelsea Building Society Staff Member nominates ELF for £250 Donation
ELF were delighted to recently be nominated by a kind member of Chelsea Building Society Staff. The Yorkshire Building Society Group recently conducted an annual survey with its staff regarding how it can support the local communities where its staff live and work and within that survey asked for the nomination of charities to receive a £250 donation from its Charitable Foundation.
One of the charities nominated for a donation was Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF). The charity was nominated by Charmaine Lewis – a member of staff with the Chelsea Building Society’s Exeter branch.
Charmaine said: “I nominated the Exeter Leukaemia Fund as myself and some of my colleagues have had close friends who have experienced leukaemia and it truly is a charity close to our hearts. I am really pleased that the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is supporting my branch’s relationship with the charity by making this donation. I hope it will go some way towards providing the support and care that those with leukaemia and their families desperately need.”
Sarah Shaw, Fundraising Manager at ELF was delighted to accept the donation and said “The Exeter Branch of Chelsea Building Society have supported ELF for a long time and I would like to thank Charmaine’s for her nomination. The donation will be put to very good use supporting patients who attend the Haematology Centre and their loved ones.”
