New Year! New You! Upcoming events...

Have you over-indulged during the festive period? Would you like to achieve something really amazing this year and feel great about yourself? Why not be a part of something exciting and set yourself a challenge for 2012 in aid of local charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF). From skydives to half marathons and sponsored walks, we really do have an event for everyone.

“We are thrilled to still be able to offer places for this year’s Great West Run half marathon and 5 k run. In 2011 we had several runners take part and raise sponsorship for ELF, the majority of which had never taken part in a half marathon before. All the runners said afterwards what a tremendous sense of achievement they felt, we’re so proud of them all! Why not run for a great local cause, we promise to support you all the way” Katie Hall, ELF Community Events Fundraiser.

If running is not your thing try a family day out in Woodbury at the “Walk or Ride!” For 2012 ELF are looking for 150 people to take part in this event in aid of ELF. Will you be one of them? The Walk or Ride is organised by the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District and you can take part in the 5, 8 or 12 mile walk or the 14 mile cycle. Last year ELF supporters raised a fantastic amount through sponsorship for this event. Thanks goes to Palmers Whitton & Laing & Ladram Bay Holiday Park for sponsoring this event.

Finally, for the more adventurous, there is the annual ELF Sky Dive at Dunkeswell Airfield with Sky Dive UK. Sign up to this once in a life time opportunity and you will find yourself taking the truly exhilarating 15,000ft jump on Friday 15^th June.

If the above doesn’t take your fancy then why not organise your own event, just give us a call to talk through your ideas. All monies raised from these events will go directly to helping patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and other blood conditions and their loved ones, in Devon and across the South West. We believe they deserve the best care, equipment and research, why not be a part of helping us to achieve this.
