David Smith has been a Trustee since 2005, was the Vice Chairman of the charity since 2007 and Chairman from March 2011 - 2012. Bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role, David had a long and successful career in the legal profession, being a partner with Everys Solicitors for 33 years prior to his retirement in 2008.

“I have seen firsthand how the charity has developed, meeting the challenges to provide the best support for haematological patients who have been referred to the RD&E Hospital. Leukaemia is life changing and ELF through its excellent staff and volunteers will be there to help in the future.

Having experienced several courses of chemotherapy during treatment for cancer I appreciate the value of the help and support ELF can give to leukaemia sufferers” said David.
