Clare Fox, Haematology Nurse Specialist, tackles the ELF skydive

Clare Fox is arguably one of the most recognisable faces on Yarty ward. In her role as Haematology Nurse Specialist, Clare is on hand to answer the many questions patients and their family members have, following a life-changing blood cancer diagnosis.

In addition to her busy role on the ward, Clare is also an ELF Trustee. Her position on Yarty ward provides Clare with invaluable insight from her direct experience with patients, which she then shares with the Trustee Board when making decisions about the direction of the charity.

On Saturday 1st June, Clare will be taking part in our ELF Group Skydive; a jump from an aeroplane at 15,000ft with 60 seconds of exhilarating freefall at Dunkeswell Airfield near Honiton. And she can't wait!

"After attending last year's skydive and cheering on the brave supporters who took part, I was inspired to take the plunge myself and promised (ELF Development Manager) Andy there and then that I'd be part of the 2024 team! In my position on the ward, I witness first hand on a daily basis the positive difference ELF's services make to both patients and their family members. I am excited and proud to undertake this epic fundraising challenge knowing that every £1 raised will further support the patients in my care."
