ELF bids farewell to valued Patient Support Driver

It was the end of an era this October as one of our Patient Support Drivers completed his final journey with ELF.

After seven and a half years, Gary decided the time was right for a change and stepped down from the position. Gary has been a key member of the transport team since joining ELF in 2014. He has been a great friend to the many patients and family members he has supported in that time, as the outpouring of messages we received on social media proved. Here is just a selection from both current and former patients wishing him well:

'Oh Gary so sad you are leaving, hope very much that whatever you do in the future you will be happy and enjoy. Every good luck will miss you very much.'

'Mum was so glad you got to drive her home on your last day. Thank you so much for your support.'

'Sad to see you go Gary, good luck for the future!'

'So glad I got chance to say goodbye last week. Thank you for all your support and help over the years. I hope you, and all the guys know what a difference you make to patients lives. I wish you the very best for the future.'

From all the ELF team - Thank you Gary for all your hard work and dedication. You will be greatly missed!

We would like to say a massive thank you to our transport team and dedicated volunteers for supporting this service during the transition period. We are pleased to announce we have filled the role for Gary's successor who will joining our friendly team of drivers soon.
