ELF founder Dr Miles Joyner awarded MBE in Queen's birthday honours

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is delighted to announce that Dr Miles Joyner, our charity founder, has been awarded an MBE in The Queen's birthday honours list. This honour has been awarded for services to blood cancer patients in Devon.

ELF was founded by Royal Devon & Exeter (RD&E) Hospital haematology consultant Dr Joyner in 1980. His aim was to improve the lives of patients with blood cancer and related conditions through improved facilities, better equipment and the funding of research. Registered as a charity in 1987, today ELF is now the leading patient-led support organisation for families affected by blood cancer in the South West.

Without Dr Joyner, neither ELF nor the Haematology Centre at the RD&E would be here today, providing vital support to patients and families across the region.

Congratulations Dr Joyner for this well-deserved honour!
