NHS Haematology Heroes Amongst Star-Studded Line Up of Celebrities to Donate to ELF Christmas Auction

This week Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is delighted to launch a Christmas auction to support local blood cancer patients and their families through a difficult winter.

The auction contains donations of merchandise from a star-studded line-up of celebrities, including one eye-catching item from a selection of real superstars. The NHS staff from Yarty Ward at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, who treat and support local patients with blood cancer and related conditions, have signed and donated an NHS tunic for the ELF auction.

The tunic will feature alongside many celebrity items from big names including Sir Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, Sir David Jason, Sir Andy Murray, The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, Ant & Dec, Eric Clapton, David Walliams, Joanna Lumley, Sir Ian McKellen, Graham Norton and many more! ITV morning presenter Lorraine Kelly has even donated a pair of her worn tartan shoes with a signed note to the winning bidder that reads, ‘Thank you for bidding for my donation! You’ve supported a great cause. Love Lorraine.’

As well as this fantastic selection of celebrity memorabilia, the auction also includes lunch at Lympstone Manor, a holiday lodge at Cofton Holidays, a football coaching session from a League Managers Association professional football coach and a hand-crafted dress made from upcycled ties.

ELF offer direct support to Yarty Ward at the RD&E Hospital to ensure that local blood cancer patients and their families receive the best possible care. ELF lightens the load, supporting families from diagnosis, through treatment and after treatment. The support that ELF provides includes transport, accommodation, counselling, physiotherapy, equipment, financial and legal services.

ELF Fundraiser Gary Moore urges the local community to bid generously. "We’re very grateful for the overwhelming support of our auction item donors and hope the public reward their contributions with generous bids. It’s great that we have managed to include a fantastic item from our hard-working NHS heroes on Yarty Ward. We are proudLorraine Kelly Shoes to work with this amazing team, who provide the best possible care for local blood cancer patients. We hope this item will be the star of our show, with people bidding in recognition of the great work that they do day in, day out."

The seven-day auction will run on eBay from Sunday 12th December. Supporters can view items and place bids at www.ebay.co.uk/usr/charity4elf or follow @elfcharity on social media.
