Record turnout for the Crediton Fundraising Group's Summer Fete

The sun was shining on Saturday the 14th August for our Crediton Fundraising Group's summer fete. This was the relaunch event for the group, following their enforced eighteen-month hiatus due to the pandemic. By the number of people who attended, we weren't the only ones to have missed them!

The fete was a brilliant afternoon of activities and entertainment for all age groups to enjoy. Alongside the many stalls and games, there was a wonderful performance by River City Chorus, a female acapella singing group, who reminded everybody how much live singing has been missed over the past year. The Exmouth Pirates were on hand to pose for photos with their costumes and replica weaponry, while the raffle and pledge auction were both as popular as ever. All 150 cream teas sold out, as did the cake stall, and at its peak there were over 100 cars parked up in the parking field, almost double the attendance of the 2019 fete.

The fete raised £2118 for ELF, however when all pre-sales and additional donations were added, the Crediton Fundraising Group had raised a spectacular £3497.00. A huge thank you to the committee for all their hard work in organising the fete, and well done to the many volunteers and helpers on the day. Also, special thanks to Paul and Marion Evans for allowing ELF to host the event in their beautiful garden.

We eagerly look forward to the Group's autumn event calendar, which includes a concert and a quiz night. To keep up to date with their events, please visit our Community Organisations page
