A Welcome Return for Live Events

The end of the month heralded the much-missed return of live challenge and sporting events for ELF supporters.

Challenge events such as marathons, triathlons and cycling are a key feature of any charity's fundraising calendar. With the continued easing of social-distancing restrictions and the upcoming removal of all restrictions in July, we are delighted to see the return of these types of events.

Three of the first challenge events to go ahead in Devon occurred over the weekend, and we were delighted to receive the support of ELF fundraisers in each of them! The races adhered to current precautions and rulings set out by the government guidelines, including staggered start times, limited spectator and volunteer numbers, and hand sanitisation stations. Our brilliant trio all reported how happy they were to be undertaking these types of events once more and how well organised and managed they were.

A huge thank you and well done to Huw, Chloe and Jonathan for completing the following events in aid of ELF:

*North Devon Half Marathon - Huw Davies
*Exeter City Community Trust Half Marathon - Chloe Vanstone
*Dartmoor Classic Cycling Event - Jonathan Gorst

Between them, the three have raised £1,950 to date for Exeter Leukaemia Fund. These funds will help us to continue supporting patients affected by blood cancer and blood disorders in Devon.
